Parachutist Navigation Board- Heated

Wilcox’s Parachutist Navigation Board is a lightweight articulating platform that features a heated GPS containment vessel with a hinged top cover assembly, backlit Ball Compass and a backlit MA-230 military altimeter. Additionally, the Navigation Board features a multi-angle articulating back plate and hinge system that allows the parachutist to deploy the Navigation Board once safely under parachute canopy. The back plate is designed to allow the unit to be worn with a Rhodesian Vest or secured with the waist band of the parachute harness. In order to keep the GPS unit from being adversely affected by the extreme cold temperatures routinely associated with HAHO parachute operations, the heater element of the GPS containment vessel is activated prior to jumping from the aircraft. Once safely under parachute canopy, the Parachutist Navigation Board is easily deployed by unscrewing the articulating hinge locking pin and rotating the navigation board to the desired angle. Once in the desired location, the articulating hinge locking pin is tightened to secure the desired position. For covert night time operations, the red LED integrated into the Ball Compass can be illuminated. If needed, the heated GPS containment vessel can easily be accessed while under canopy by simply depressing the release lever and raising the hinged top cover.
