Newington-NH—Wilcox Industries and Vectronix, Inc. have teamed up, to jointly develop the Rapid Acquisition Aiming Module (RAAM™), for 40mm grenade launchers that greatly increases the probability of a first-round hit. The RAAM is mounted onto the weapons rail when used with an under-barrel configuration or can be mounted directly onto the M320 when used as a stand-alone.

 

The RAAM features a built-in ballistic computer and laser range finder that calculates changes in trajectory based on built in sensors that factor in temperature and inclination / declination. This information is then fed into a motorized gimble that houses a reflex sight and an infrared and visible laser. The gimble automatically articulates to the proper weapon elevation allowing the grenadier to simply realign the targets to the reflex sight or IR laser and to fire.  A single press of the Range/Select button cancels the process to allow for a new target.  

 

Other features of the RAAM include a cant indicator and LED displays that automatically dim for viewing through Night Vision Goggles during night operations. The LED panel has a ballistic range of 40-400 meters that is displayed in one meter increments. The RAAM is easily mounted onto any MIL STD 1913 rail without any need of special tools. The system is waterproof up to one meter.
